Four Men Make an Impression:
20 Years in Fast Motion

The story begins in 1987 with the decision by four men, full of initiative, Michele von Ritter, Alfred Schneider, Hans-Peter Müller and Jens Bomholt, to develop their own company in the field of pressure measurement technology.

Sirnach is selected as the location for the newly established corporation, because Canton Thurgau provides the best business environment. Hans-Peter Mueller takes over the management. During this start-up phase the development of their own pressure sensors based on a modular design is at the center of the activities. STS presents its initial products at the trade fair in Nuremberg in May 1988.

Break-even in the second year
In 1989 they are able to acquire their first major customer. With the development of client-specific products STS achieves break-even the same year. Two years later eight employees are working for the flourishing company. Jens Bomholt leaves the company.

From Thurgau to Europe
As of 1991, with the founding of the first subsidiary, STS Italia s.r.l., the Italian market is being served. In 1995 STS Sensoren Transmitter Systeme GmbH in Sindelfingen, Germany follows. In the meantime, the staff numbers at headquarters in Sirnach grow to 25. The leased premises are being outgrown.

More space in the new millennium
In 1997 STS acquires a piece of property on which to build its own company building. In 1999 the groundbreaking occurs for the new building, and just twelve months later it is ready for occupation.

Continued high clock frequency
In order to serve the French market better, the STS France branch in Annemasse is opened. The year 2005 is marked by changes. Managing Director and founder, Hans-Peter Mueller, leaves STS. He sells his block of shares to the two remaining shareholders. Daniel Zuellig becomes the new Managing Director. STS is successfully underway and climbs from one record turnover to the next. In 2007 the ground-breaking for an expansion occurs.
